About the Trail
The Loowit Trail in Washington State’s Cascade Mountains circumnavigates Mount Saint Helens midway between the foothills and the erupted summit. The rugged and unstable trail traverses expansive fields of lava rock, drops into steep washes, and crosses numerous streams and snowfields.
