About Vashon Island
Vashon Island the largest island in Puget Sound south of Admiralty Inlet. The ferries and water taxi at the north end of the island links it to Fauntleory, downtown Seattle, and Southworth, while a ferry at the south end connects it to Tacoma. Residents have resisted the construction of a bridge to preserve the island’s isolation and rural character. Vashon is known for its annual strawberry festival, agriculture, and sheepdog trials.
